Fundraising Circus

Question: Circus animals are slaves in captivity. Do you have any humane fund-raising ideas ?

Every year, the Lions Club or Shriners (can’t remember which) hosts a circus to come to town to make money. It’s for a good cause. I believe they help sick kids and do many other noble things with the money. But I always boycott it because I think it’s so depressing for the animals to be slaves in captivity. I feel very inneffective and want to provide a solution instead of simply telling them the circus is cruel to animals (thus not being any help). We already have a midway that comes every year. Do you have any other good Fundraising Ideas?
I thank you for your solidarity and suggestions.

Answer: some info:

i think there are alternative entertainments that don’t involve animals, a lower-rent version of Cirque du Soleil, or the Peking Acrobats, perhaps? Sounds like the people at the following link simply organized their own “Human Circus” of non-animal entertainment (http://allentown.craigslist.org/pet/162687412.html). Perhaps you could organize the same?

Question: red nose day Fundraising Ideas?

me and a friend really want to do something funny for money but we don’t know what to do.Any ideas?
i know there are some ideas on the website but we want something different.

p.s if you don’t know red nose day is made by comic relief and is when everyone raises money for this one day to make life better for kids. and there little symbol is a red nose everyone wears whle they are fundraising!

Answer: Since it is “Red Nose Day” and the world’s funniest Red Nose was W. C. Fields, then what better than checking out a short movie from the library starring W.C. Fields and doing one of the comedy routines included.
He did many movies right after talkies gat started and he also was known as a buffoon and a drunk; hence the “red nose”.
You can get others to do other routines and have a W.C. Fields Comedy Contest. Sell tickets and award a part of the proceeds to the winner.
There are enough movies and routines so that you can have many participants and raise lots of money for your cause.
