Question: Fundraising and organisation ideas please (reposted)

I am planning to organise a fundraising event for a meaningful charity, i was planning to arrange a skydive but i couldnt get definate answers on willing participants. So I think something more community orientated would be better.

I would appreciate ideas on how to go about organising something, what time scale i should consider, and what legal matters i may come up against. I am thinking along the lines of a sponsored village trek, where people take their bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, or even walk or run, around the village and get sponsored for doing so. Either this or a quiz night, but i want to raise as much as possible, which is where i think the sponsored event would be better. Any ideas/tips are much appreciated!! Thank you.

Answer: I organized a Bowl-A-Thon for United Way and it was great cause all ages could participate, adults and kids both love it

Question: Where does the text that a guest submits on my website go?

The template I used to make my a website and it has a text box that a visitor can fill out for more information. I cannot for the life of me figure out where the submitted text is going to and how I retrieve it.

Any ideas? I’m thinking about taking that out of the site because I cannot figure it out.

Answer: I am sorry to say, but the submissions are not going anywhere. In order for something to happen on a web site, the form has to send its results to a server side script, usually a PHP script. It would be this script that would turn it into an email and/or save it in a database.

I can tell from your question that this is probably not something that you will be able to set up by yourself. I would recommend that you go back to where you purchased the template from (or possibly your website host) and they will be able to help you out.
