Question: How do I ask coworkers to bake for a fundraising event?
I’m representing my department to raise money in any way for a big charity, the thing is I’m very new to the department and I’m not sure how to approach my coworkers and ask them to bake some goodies for a bake sale I’m organizing!
any ideas? I’m planning to send an email to my whole department,
thanks
I’m not good at asking people I barely know to help/donate..or ask for favors I feel a little uncofortable..how can i write a friendly but not so personal email…to the whole department.
Answer: To ensure the best response: -
Put up “teaser” posters round the office in advance of your email – perhaps a colourful image of a cake and the words “company bake off, coming soon!”
Make the title of your email unusual and catchy to ensure people open it.
Keep it as brief and to the point as possible to ensure people read it.
Make it sound fun so that people want to get involved.
Use the same colourful image of the cake to get their attention and so they recognise it’s part of the teaser campaign.
Make it obvious what they need to do (e.g. email you back if interested)
Hope that helps. Good luck with it.

Fundraising Dinner

Question: what attraction can i include for a Fundraising Dinner Dance on Valentines Day?
I belong to a marketing institute and we are looking for fund raising ventures that will make the institute self sustaining. Our 1st project proposal is to offer coaching services to marketing students, so to raise funds for this project, we have decided to host a “Valentines Day Fund raising Dinner Dance. What should be our selling point for this event so that people can turn up in numbers and pledge their support?
Answer: When people go to a dinner dance event they want a great meal and also a great band or dj. You can offer a door prize or dance contest for gift cards so that your not putting to much money in when this is a fund raiser, you can auction off people for valentines who dont have a date…… well not much here to tell you just brainstorm as much as you can.
good luck
