Question: What is it like to work in a Nonprofit organization? especially in the fundraising area?
I’m considering a degree in Nonprofit management with a Fundraising Certificate. I’ve always been fascinated with the concept of working in a non-profit, however, I don’t really know what the day-to-day work load will be. Is it mostly a desk job or is it more of working with people? Is fundraising a hard job or can it be fun? Any info would help!
Answer: As a fundraiser you have limited contact with clients. You will be expected to write grants, set up fundraisers, set up fundraiser events, acknowledge donations, etc….
Why don’t you volunteer for an agency for a specific campaign? That way you can see what its like start to finish. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF, is one where you can get your feet wet!!!

Question: What is the best way to organize a Kids Fundraising Event Scavenger Hunt?
We are planning on organizing a fundraiser which would be a scavenger hunt taking place at Fort York in Toronto. The idea is to have the kids and their families attend a fun filled event where they can all be involved and raise money for a non prfit charity. We would be expecting about 1000 kids under the age of 12 and their parents and families. We are hoping to build a list of ideas and resources that will help us brainstorm and plan this event.
Answer: you create a list of simple things like flower print papertowel and blue magnet red crayon etc. and give it to the children. have them go to houses and ask people for the items. the first to get them all wins.
