Fundraising Cards

Question: Is this illegal? Fundraising?
A credit card fundraising program promised to give $5 to an organization for every completed credit card form filled out, whether the person was approved or not. Upon getting the forms back, the group’s president noticed about 25 out of the 250 forms received from applicants had no Social Security number and about 10 had no signature. The president of the group made up the last 25 Social Security numbers and forged the final 10 signatures so the group could get all the money possible. Is there anything illegal about that? What could the penalty be if caught? Thanks.
Answer: yes it is ilegal, doesn’t matter why he did, someone may steal a loaf of bread to feed there children, yet they still stole it. he should have just gone back to those people as he had most of there info in front of him, ie address, phone, name
Fundraising Thank You Cards

Question: A dear friend of mine lost her sister, dog, home and all belongings in a fire, need Fundraising Advice?
She was on vacation in Florida when she was notified of the horrible incident last week, and recently found that insurance will only be covering very little. We are having a benefit for her next week, but being unemployed at the moment I have very little to give myself. I thought I might attempt to contact some local businesses as well as a few major (Walmart, Home Depot, etc…) in an attempt to raise some funds, whether they’d like to donate funds, gift cards, or items. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might go about doing this, or any tips as to how to maximize a potential donation? Thank you for any advice
Answer: Hey Sarah
A friend had a similar incident last year. We rounded up things to auction and held an auction at a local bar. We invited friends and family and raised money that way.
I might have a few good ideas for ya. How about scratch cards. You can give them to donors, they scratch off a circle which reveals a donation amount. You can get cards that have coupons for restraunts so everybody gets something. Every card can raise $115 so if you can get a group to sell them you can raise money quickly plus it’s easy to combine with any other Fundraising Ideas.
You can also do things like have a BBQ at a local mall.
Walk dogs or tutor in the meantime. Every dollar counts.
The time and effort you put in will make up for money donations. Your friend is lucky to have a friend like you.
Good Luck!
