Fundraising Picnic

Question: Fundraising Bake Sale?
We are doing a bake sale at my sons school to raise money for his kind grad. The teacher said there wasn’t enough baking last time, so I decided if other parents don’t have the time I am going to step up and make more. So far I have 22 Jello cups (plastic picnic cup size), 12 egg less milk less chocolate cupcakes, and I have a batch of sugar cookies in the fridge. The recipe says it will make 36 but we will see. Should I make more. The cupcakes are easy so I will probably end up doing those.
Answer: Wow props to you!!!
I make brownies but I don’t like the messy edges so I use a muffin pan or mini muffin pan spray with pam and they come right out. Cheap but I don’t know how popular they would be are chocolate dipped pretzel rods (leave about an 1 1/2 at end undipped for non-messy fingers) Good Luck

Fundraising Experience

Question: How can I get a job in Corporate / Community Fundraising? I have a sales background?
By Fundraising, I mean professionally, either Corporate or Community. I have a strong background in B2B sales, thus I can see myself fitting into Corporate Fundraising role especially. It seems to be one of those jobs where they always want previous Fundraising experience, but there must be opportunities for someone with my background, mustn’t there?
I am based in Edinburgh, so UK relevant answers would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Answer: These sort of jobs are advertised in Third Sector (magazine and website) and the Guardian on a Wednesday (also website). The best way to gain experience is to do some volunteer fundraising – your sort of skills would be very useful, but you need to understand the voluntary sector as it is a lot different to the corporate world.
