Fundraising Ideas For Individuals

Question: Need Fundraising Ideas!?
My daughter (13 yrs) is trying to raise money to attend a leadership summit in 2010. The cost is pricey, and we’re in need of some fun, cool, not over-used fund raising ideas. It will only be her raising the money – she doesn’t have a group or a team helping. So far, we’re planning a car wash and a yard sale. Any suggestions on where an individual can get a scholarship for educational activities, or a fund raising idea that doesn’t involve selling a bunch of stuff because she’s on her own? We’re also asking for some community donations…
Answer: I suggest a grant, grants are offered for education but also for other things like , medical, debt, even emergency funds. There might be one that would work for you. Did you know that there are government grants as well as private grants available. Try this site, they should be able to answer your questions and also help you decide which grant is best for you. Good Luck

Fundraising Trees

Question: Fundraising Help for a tree? Urgent help pleaseeeeeee!?
so the story goes,
my teacher’s father died, so she planted a tree for him.
it’s been there for about a year,
and recently, construction workers bull dowsed it to nothing.
I feel terrible because I love this teacher, and many others do as well.
she’s a sweet person who has had a hard life, and I want to raise money with everyone at school so we can buy her a nice big tree to put right by her room.
first question: how do I go about raising the money?
I already talked to the princeple, she says it’s a great idea and told me to ask around for supporters and such,
question2: what’s the best type of tree, and about how much will it be?
I’m not one to do these things… so I don’t have a clue what to do.
we live in Oklahoma if weather conditions are a factor.
Answer: That is wonderful and so sweet. You are doing a great thing. I would suggest fund raising by having a bake sale perhaps? Or maybe having a school potluck in which kids could bring in different dishes and everyone could pay $2.00 to get in. Or, you could sell candy or chips at your school. I really am grateful for what you are doing, there should be more people like you in the world. As for the tree, I would suggest a Maple or an Oak, to survive the winters, or you could go to your local nursery and ask which would be best. In the end it depends on how much money you make, but I wish you good luck.
