Fundraising Statistics

Question: Do you think I should switch out from Pre-Calculus and take Statistics instead?

Right now I have mostly A’s…..except 1 “B” and one “F” in Pre-Calculus…..I’ve never gotten anything below a “B”

Should I switch out?? I don’t think I could pass that class cuz the teacher is soooo hard. My counselor gave me an extra week to see if I would succeed, but I’m not improving.

So my option would be to take Statistics this year, and then maybe next year take Pre-Calculus once I’m ready….or AP Statistics.

What would you do if u were me??

my dream schools are Ivy League’s and UC schools. I am sooo busy, so I also wouldn’t have enough time for Pre-Calculus.
As junior, I am taking:

1. AP English Lang
2. Chemistry
3. Pre-Calculus or statistics???
4. US History
5. Student Government
6. AP Spanish Literature
7. AP Art History

Extra-Curricular activities:
-Tutor kids at youth center
-Spokesperson
-Fundraising organizer
-School newspaper

Answer: Wow that’s a lot. Do you HAVE to take a math course this year? That many AP classes… wow. I only took 2 at a time. I would suggest taking an easier class, then opting for AP Stat next year. If you’re not doing well in Pre-Cal, you won’t do well next year, either. Pre-cal is not my specialty, but I did alright. Statistics is an entire different subject- it shouldn’t even be considered “Math.” I am no good at math, but Stats came to me like common sense! If you are good with logic, you’ll do fine with Statistics… but wait for next year. Try taking an easier class. You need to be well-rounded. Try photography, art (art history is all academic, so no it doesn’t count), culinary (if offered), or maybe a Social Science like Psychology or Sociology.

Question: Math help!!!!!! please answer :( ?

Samantha’s hockey team is fundraising for a trip to Europe! They are aerating lawns to raise money.
The equation they are using to determine how much money is being raised is as follows:

R = 35n – 215

a. If the cost of renting the aerating machine is 215 then what does the n stand for?

b. If they raised $695, how many lawns did they aerate? Use the formula and show all steps.

Answer: A) N stands for the amount of lawns they aerated.
B) 695+215=910
910/35=26

So they aerated 26 lawns.
