Question: Working from home with baby?
So, I’m trying to come up with a good plan for when I have a baby. My preference is to keep my current job, but work from home and come into the office for meetings and events, for the first year. Has anyone done this and if so, how hard is it to continue your job with a new baby? Should I start off part time? I work in fundraising, so a lot of my job is on a computer: writing letters, emails, planning events.
Answer: I worked from home for the most part for the first couple of years- I had my mom as daycare help, she would come over every day and that would let me get my work done. If I tried to do work without her though I’d never have gotten anything done.
I did go to the office for meetings and things like that but was always able to be back within a few hours so I was able to breastfeed for a full year.
