Easy Fund Raising Ideas

Question: Raising money for a cure for caner-can anyone provide good Fundraising Ideas?

I’m raising money while training for a marathon w/ Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am running in honor of my friend who died of leukemia at age 37. :/ He was so amazing-he completed a full ironman before he passed away and raised tons of money and awareness for the organization.

I have a Fundraising Website but it’s not raising much cash with friends/family. I put my link on facebook a bunch of times, but it’s not helping. I’d love some cheap/easy Fundraising Ideas. I want to have an event that doesn’t involve much overhead but raises lots of money for this great organization. Thanks for your help!

I would suggest that you start a facebook page or event page and really try to create some buzz about what you are doing. Message all your friends and invite them to join your FB page, and to also become involved with what you are doing by sponsoring a small amount. Don’t ask for too much… everyone can afford a little and those little bits can add up.

Make sure you write a good inviting message that pulls on people’s emotions. Make them feel a part of what you are doing and how much their small sponsorships and participation will help people in need with Leukimia! Also encourage them to forward the invitation on and to get their friends to join… Slowly network outwards from your friends and family to all their friends and family.

I would then also suggest that you print off a whole lot of sponsorship sheets that you can take around to your local pubs/clubs/shopping malls etc., plus to friends and family, and ask for sponsorships. By using a sponsorship sheet you make the sponsorship more personal… you take down the sponsors details so you can thank them later and they feel more involved and a part of what you are doing!
