Question: Ideas for a fundraising event: fun community night for charity?

I was thinking a dance with a big band could be good – I’m not really sure of the success that this would bring though. How would I maximise the profits (in terms of advertising, events run during the night, the theme of the night etc) that this event could bring about?

If you have any other great ideas for fundraising I’d love to hear them!

my social group once needed to raise a heck lot of money for a small kid having severe blood cancer.
we went to a well known place in our city and hosted our own concert.
we oursleves sang in our own cracke voices and played our own instruments and guess what????we raised three quarters of the required money and the rest poured in beyond the necessity from those who wanted to attend but couldn’t…..

Question: How should I personalize an envelope to make it stand out?

I am sending out fundraiser letters out to my friends, family, and local businesses. I want my envelope to stand out from all of the other pieces of mail: junk mail, bills, and ect. Because once the potential donor get drawn in by the envelope it will greater the chances of the person opening it and donating.
