Fundraising Non Profits

fundraising non profits
Question: fundraising for my soon to be non profit?

OK- I was wondering once I get my non profit’s name from the state can I just start fundraising or do i need some type of permit or license? I don’t think I do but i just want to make sure.

Answer: Look on the state’s website for the rules.
You probably need a solicitation permit.
And donations to your org are NOT tax-deductible for the donors until you actually have the 501(c)(3) FROM THE IRS.
Yes, really.
The IRS is not the state.
It’s federal.
You’re not done yet.
