Fundraising Birthday Parties

Question: Has anyone ever held a Fundraising Party?
Afternoon! I have an exciting idea but I dont know where to go from here…….
I lost my Grandad in March and he suffered with parkinsons disease for 20 years. I have thought about doing something to raise money and awareness for Parkinsons Society as there is still NO cure for this evil disease.
It is my 21st Birthday this summer and I have had an idea……..How about theming my birthday party around ‘Party for Parkinsons’ and have a fundraising evening???? The only thing is I am a tad shy at times and I dont know where to start……….ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!
Answer: Here what you should said on the invitation cards or look-like a postcards… It just an example:
“On my 21st Birthday this year I want to have a Fundraiser instead of a Party, so let have a Fundraiser Partying! It will be on JUNE 13th, 2009 at Michele’s 33124 West Peace Avenue in Uptown New York, from 9-5. THANK YOU! Tinklebell … don’t forget the RSVP and your phone number on the cards. (Also it’s would be great to put you and your grandfather picture on the invitation cards… so it will meant the party is for you and to honor your grandfather.)
On the bottom (or on the next side panel) on the invitations write your “Golden Hope” and the “amount goal” for this cause… why are you doing this? Make your golden hope story short and simple.
Get some pampers/brochures about the Parkinson Disease from the http://apdaparkinson.org/userND/index.asp, call them up they would be glad or if you have one near your home, go and ask for some and set it up all around the party. Also find out if they have shirts for sale, ask for a sheet orders to see if guests are interesting to wear to honor it, again set it on the table and let guests give you the order sheet plus the check when they love to order ones.
Now let the party begin… never make it sad and dull, it will sent people away! Remember this is a party make it interesting and fun. It will be well worth it and you will feel honor. You need to have a glass box vase (or birdcage with the gated door) for guests to put their donation check into. Have some extra envelopes near the vase so the guests can hide what amount they are giving to the Parkinson Disease Corp. If guests don’t know what to put on their check: “Pay to the Order of” to… put the sign up that said, write the check to The American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc. or an other donation you are involve with. Now, for party serve cocktail drinks and appetizers plus various of cheeses on various crackers. Have a party theme so the party look more fun and colorful. My favorite is what year was your grandfather born… if he was born in the 30s’. Have the party in 1930 theme-dance party! Have guests dress to the part. Enjoy!! Oh ya… use the invitation cardstocks to the party theme color… what your grandfather favorite color? If it red then gets red invitation cardstocks or if you prefer to goes with what your color is, then goes with it. Have Fun!!! You deserve it after all you’re 21 years old!!! Your grandfather and your family would be so totaling proud of you!
