Question: Fundraising: I am tired of wrapping paper, entertainment books, raffles, etc…need some fresh ideas. thx?
Answer: How about a “Coupon Savings Drive”?
Talk to a local grocer / restaurant / pizza joint / you name it & arrange to have people at the location the day of the drive. Hand out flyers as people enter in asking them to have their coupon savings given back in cash (as opposed to off of their bill) & then donated to your cause. For instance, you have a Buy one Get one Free dinner coupon for up to $20 (those are typically in the Entertainment Book). Rather than paying $20 for the $40 meal, the diner would pay the full $40 with the $20 donated to your cause.
This works the same for grocery coupons – 50 cents off toothpaste, have the shopper ask for the 50 cents back in cash rather than getting the discount off the bill & donate it to your cause.
