Fundraising Development Plan

Question: Fundraising Help? (FCCLA)?
For FCCLA I am doing the Focus of Children chapter. I plan on doing a fundraiser directed towards the community and their children and I need some ideas. The money is going to be donated towards a charity for children in my local area. I need to think of some things that I can do that teaches children something (it could be recycling, weather cycle, design, some lesson in school, anything that is talked about in the college course Teaching Academy, which is similar to Child Development) and at the same time is interesting for the older kids and adults too.

This page is meant to provide details of what it takes to create a successful fund raising event — one that actually raises money for a nonprofit or charity. Some of the suggestions are for mid-sized and large events. There’s an entire section on small, simple fund raising activities as well.

Question: Fundraising Ideas?
I’m a final year student and last autumn I got accepted on a volunteer project with International Student Volunteers to go to Dominican Republic for a month to do community work. I have to raise £1,500 in sponsorhip money before the middle of July. We’ve been given a letter to send to friends and family and local businesses to see if they will give us donations. Are there any other Fundraising Ideas that you could recommend that try? I have a part time job but this isn’t going to cover much.
thanks
Answer: Do you know what is the easiest way to raise money for a good cause? The way that almost no one ever thinks to try because they think it will be hard, when in fact it is the EASIEST thing you can do?
Well, here’s the one-word answer:
ASK!
“Oh, I could NEVER ask anyone for money!”
Why not? What is the worst thing that could happen if you ask someone to donate money for your cause?
Well, that’s it? That’s the worst thing?
Well, then, GET OVER IT! Start ASKING! You will be surprised what you can do IF you really intend to be honest and do with the money what you SAY you are going to do. People recognize sincerity and honesty, and they are willing to help. So just be sincere, and honest – and ASK!
