Fundraising Venues

Question: Have you ever been to a Viennese Ball?

I find that the definition of what constitutes a Viennese ball in the United States is quite different from a ball in Vienna. If you have been to either one, please share your impressions with me.

What did you like and/or dislike?
What was the venue/location of the event?
Was there live music?
Did you only dance the Viennese waltz or other ballroom dances, as well?

I am thinking about organizing a ball, similar to the ones held in Vienna, Austria, as a public relations/fundraising event. Thank you.

Answer: No, I’ve never gone to a real one, just to a small gathering after an opera performance on NYE in a small town. That happened back in 2000. It was still nice, but nothing like what I’ve read about.

I know that a number of places do a really grand scale version of the Viennese ball. Hopefully someday I’ll get to attend one. Attaching a link for one that Stanford University holds.

Good luck.
