Fundraising Scale

Question: We have PETA but why dont we have anything to protect our children?!?
I want to start an international organization for abused/neglected children. Is there anything on this scale presently? I would get the word out by web, fundraising, and media ads, but what else would i need to do to get this started? Any advice on launching this type of org? Any legal actions? I live in CA
FYI, I come from a great family but as a parent, I am sickened by the treatment of our children in society, somtimes at the hands of their families. We treat our most valuable future assets like trash but give animals the highest protections. Don’t get me wrong, I also support PETA. But our govt and local child services are failing miserably in the welfare of our kids and actions needs to be taken. I was thinking it’s just too bad that we can’t form vigiliante groups against child predators
I am not one to sit on the sidelines while our society goes down the toilet and I would like to bring attention to these issues. I’d love any info and support.
Thank you al
Answer: There are a great many laws in place protecting children already. Read the lawbooks.
Unfortunately, often they are not enforced, and this is the fault of all of the citizens who vote for legislators who are more interested in making big money and a big name in politics than in working for all of the citizens, especially those without a vote or money and/or with the most needs so are the most bother. Such as children
Give each child 20 million bucks, and you’d be assured the legislators would sit up and notice!
You could work for for 3rd parties, so they have an equal opportunity to be permanently on the ballot, and so the Press gives them equal coverage. And for careful selection of vote judges; we know many judges are biased and a large number throw our 3rd party votes to keep 3rd and 4th parties from being a nuisance and getting good government in the way of making money. Many smaller parties have very good ideas that would impact positively on what you are concerned about.
One interesting thing is that if animals were prevented from being seen injured unless they had waived their right of privacy, PETA would have lots of problems getting people interested, in my opinion. For kids, you would have to take away some “rights” to get the really effective pictures and stories, and the Press would have to be allowed to run such pictures and write such stories pretty much unhampered.
Do you want “xciting” and bloody pictures of your kids, if molested, all over th country in papers and fliers and on the Internet? Tho it probably would be effective in getting public pressure to a higher level for a “PETC” movement.
And would the PETC then say all children should not be disciplined, ala some child psychologists, and all let grown up willing to express themselves any way they please at any times, without any discipline? Like wild animals are?
You can campaign to get legislators in who are not encumbered with situational ethics and the desire to curry votes and money from any kind of group or person that can pay them, though that will be a long struggle in a society where the parents are not allowed to instruct in good ethics and the schools encourage situational ethics, and are afraid to teach things straight and enforce discipline for fear of lawsuits.
Maybe the schools are where you should work, Work on teaching discipline, ethics, citizenship, respect for country, flag, and each other, and so on. What we are doing now OBVIOUSLY is NOT WORKING.
I think the experiment is shown to be a failure, and we need to clean up our act in the schools where tomorrows kids will be going. Who will be the voting adults of the day after!!
We will always have some problems, but we need judges and juries who will see to it that until a real cure is found that is socially acceptable, or society comes to accept a known cure as acceptable, those convicted should be held until assured that either the conviction was based on wrong evidence, or there is a cure. I can think of one cure with potential but it is currently illegal! And I see lots of cases with tampered evidence, and even judicial refusal to change proven erroneous convictions. Not only do we need to hold the guilty, but we need to spring without prejudice the innocent. Maybe with compensation, even.
I agree there is a problem, but vigilante groups have been shown to make many errors that cannot be corrected. Our legal system is corrupt and the laws, many of them, are ridiculous, and actually seem to encourage crime. But they CAN be corrected, if we want to.
We need equal and fast justice, by unbiased judges, and we need simple, straight laws by sober, competent, unbiased legislators. Seems to be a breed harder and harder to find!!
Maybe for a start you should run for political office and then get on the committees working on children’s issues?
