Question: How hard is it to get into NYU???

I would love to get into NYU but sometimes I wonder if I can get in. I’m a sophomore my average is 3.6- 3.8 and I take AP history and plan to take all honors next year. I am on math club Fundraising Committee and plan to run for vp or treasurer I also volunteer at the ambulance 3 hrs a week since 8th grade and last year they gave me an award for making a presentation for a ceremony they had which required me to go at least 2-3 hrs a day including weekends for a whole month. I do track stagecrew, yac, deka, student congress, jr rescue squad and drama club. And I dont know if this counts but I work at a boyscout summer camp which required me to become a boyscout (im a girl though). Im taking sat coarses too.

Answer: NYU is a selective school, but not as insanely difficult to get into as a lot of people think. Its business school is more difficult to get into than the regular arts and sciences school. The average GPA of high school students who went to NYU was 3.6 with an average SAT score of 2050 so that’s definitely doable. You just have to show that you’re well-rounded with extracurriculars, leadership skills, some honors/AP courses. Being in the top 10% of your class helps too. I would say GPA and SAT scores are most important to NYU. A decent number of students from my high school who got into NYU didn’t have any outstanding extracurricular activities or anything. They just had a decent SAT score, decent GPA, several honors classes, a few AP classes, and they had no trouble getting in. You should take on at least 3 AP courses your junior year and at least 3 AP courses your senior year. Study a lot for the SAT’s to get at least a 2050 and secure leadership positions in your extracurricular activities.

Good luck!

Question: How much of Obama’s fundraising success is built on fraudulent contributions?

Apparently this story’s just too big for one “mainstream” media organization to ignore.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/10/27/eveningnews/main4550728.shtml?tag=rightRail;rightRailInner

You folks obviously didn’t read the story.

I’ll give you another chance in a bit.

Answer: Apparently a significant amount of his fundraising is indeed obtained through fraudulent means. He has used the internet to collect hugh amounts, and of course there is no way the legitimacy of these contributions can be verified.
