Fundraising Proposal

Question: How can I get support from a local radio station, TV channel, or newspaper to promote fund-raising activities?

I am working on my writing class paper, which is a proposal to raise money for X cause. I will also need advertisers for these Fundraising Activities. I think the best ideas would be local radio station, TV channel and newspaper. However, how can I explain how I’m going to get their support?

Is there a way to get the attention from these sorts of media?

I would really appreciate any good answer. Thanks.

Answer: Call a reporter for the local newspaper. If she agrees to interview you, you will get some great response. They run these stories on Saturday when news is slow..

Question: What was the name of the Fundraising Candy Bars from the late 80s early 90s?

I cannot remember the name of the candy bars I sold when I was in grade school. If it helps, I lived in St. Louis, MO. These weren’t “Name Brand” candy bars like Hershey’s. I especially remember the caramel ones that were wrapped in white paper with gold foil. They were SO GOOD. On the wrappers, all it said was “Caramel” or “Almond” or “Crisp.” I can’t remember the manufacturer or anything. I don’t think they were “World’s Finest” though, because I looked at those candy bars and they didn’t look like the ones I remember. Unless the wrappers have been updated, which is very possible. I do remember buying one as recent as around 2000 or 2001 and it was the same wrapper as the one I remember. I can’t think of any more details, but I will be wracking my brain between now and when my question gets answered! Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer: Oh, I remember those…I had to sell them once and got in big trouble for spending all of my savings (probably $10, LOL) on them.

I think maybe they *are* World’s Finest. I bought one from a neighbor kid (the caramel kind) and they tasted like what I remembered. I think they make the bars smaller (skinnier) now, which makes sense because they still cost $1 after 20 years.
