Fundraising Packet

Question: Confusion from my EX-BFF???!!?

Almost 10 years ago after relocating to be near my BFF and her kids, We had a heated argument which led to a physical fight with me ending up in the hospital recovering from a broken ankle. Yesterday I receive in the mail a School Fundraising packet from her daughter, who should be in Jr high school by now. Her kids mean the world to me even after 10 years because they had nothing to do with what ensued between their mother and I, But I was trying to decide whether or not I should participate in the fundraiser (for the child) or if this was some way for her mom to try and communicate with me after all this time. After all these years, why would she have her daughter mail this out to me? I am sure her kids have had many fundraisers in the past 10 years, which did not include asking me! My family says I should not try and open up any cans of worms because it’s in the past and I should just ignore the letter. What do some of you guys think?

Answer: I swear, “Ex-BFF” has to be one of the most obvious contradictions in terms possible. BFF = best friends FOREVER, and since it’s forever, she can’t be an ex. Ex best friend, yes. Ex BFF, no.

Fundraising Business

Question: What does the drop in the democratic parties fundraising mean for the party?

Democratic political committees have seen a decline in their fundraising fortunes this year, a result of complacency among their rank-and-file donors and a de facto boycott by many of their wealthiest givers, who have been put off by the party’s harsh rhetoric about big business.

Answer: I think Bill Clinton said it best:

‘It’s the economy, stupid!’

Plus, considering the Democratic party set all kinds of donor campaign records in the last election, it’s only natural that there be a lull during a non-election year.
